To Speak or Not to Speak ()

Ryan Wyatt, November 1, 2026
Part of the Proverbs series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Knowing what to say is important, but knowing when to say it is just as important. In a world where everyone has an opinion and every disagreement seems to demand a response, how do we know when to speak and when to remain silent?

In week three of our series, Proverbs: Skillfully Living a Life with Purpose, we turn to Proverbs 26:1–12 to discover how wisdom guides our conversations, confrontations, and relationships. Scripture teaches us to recognize when someone deserves our attention, when engaging in an argument makes us part of the problem, and when correction can genuinely lead to growth.

Walking in wisdom doesn't mean winning every argument or answering every accusation. It means learning to respond with discernment, humility, and Christlike character. Join us as we explore how God's wisdom teaches us not only what to say, but when and how to say it.
